Why I Started Nurtured Path Co.

Nurtured Path Co. didn't start with a business plan.

It started at home, with my child.

I realized pretty quickly that I have a very strong-willed child. He knows what he wants, he has his own ideas, and convincing him to do something just because I asked him to isn't always the easiest thing in the world. 😊

And honestly, I didn't want to change that part of him.

I wanted to find ways to work with his personality while helping him learn the everyday skills he needed to become more independent.

I Was Looking for Something That Could Actually Help

One of the things we were working on was creating stronger morning and evening routines.

I wanted my child to know what was coming next instead of having me constantly remind him:

"Get dressed."

"Brush your teeth."

"Put your shoes on."

"What's taking so long?"

I started looking online for a simple routine chart that could help us.

And I found plenty of them.

But many of the options I came across were basically thin paper charts. They looked nice, but I wanted something that could actually stand up to everyday life with a child.

I wanted something that could be used again and again without worrying about it getting torn, damaged, or ruined.

So I started thinking:

What if I just made one myself?

From One Routine Chart to a Much Bigger Idea

My first product was a Morning & Evening Routine Chart, and I originally made it for our own home.

I wanted it to help us create a stronger routine, but I also wanted something more than a simple checklist.

I wanted my child to have a tool that he could actually interact with and feel proud of completing.

Something that could give him that little feeling of:

“I did it myself.”

That feeling of accomplishment mattered to me.

I didn't want the chart to be another way for me to tell him what to do. I wanted it to give him an opportunity to take some ownership of his routine.

Then I Started Thinking About the Product Itself

Once I started creating the chart, I became a little obsessed with making it right.

I didn't want to make another paper chart that would eventually get bent, torn, or thrown away.

I wanted something waterproof and tearproof, something that could actually handle everyday use by children.

I also wanted to avoid traditional lamination because I didn't love the idea of creating a product that depended on a plastic laminate layer to make it durable.

Finding the right materials, figuring out the design, testing different options, changing things that didn't work, and trying again took much longer than I ever expected.

It wasn't something I created overnight.

It took years of experimenting and refining to get the product to a place where I felt comfortable putting my name behind it.

Why I Care So Much About the Details

When you're creating something for your own child, you notice things you might not otherwise think about.

Will it actually hold up?

Can a child use it without constant help?

Is it easy to understand?

Will it still look good after being used every day?

Is it practical for real family life?

Those questions became a big part of how I approach every product I create.

I want the things I make to be beautiful, but I also want them to be useful.

Because at the end of the day, a children's product can look wonderful, but if it doesn't make everyday life a little easier, what's the point?

From Our Home to Other Families

What started as something I created because I needed it eventually became something I realized other parents might need too.

That was the beginning of Nurtured Path Co.

Today, I'm creating tools designed to help children build routines, practice independence, understand emotions, and develop everyday skills in a way that feels simple and encouraging.

I don't believe children need a complicated system for everything.

Sometimes a simple visual reminder, a little consistency, and the opportunity to say “I did it!” can make a bigger difference than we realize.

This Is Why Nurtured Path Co. Exists

Nurtured Path Co. is still very much connected to the reason I started in the first place.

I create these products because I know what it's like to look for something that might make everyday life with a child just a little easier — and not quite find what you're looking for.

So instead of settling for something that wasn't quite right, I decided to create it myself.

And that's something I want to continue doing.

Creating simple, thoughtful tools that support children as they grow, while giving parents practical resources they can actually use in everyday life.

Because I don't want to create products just to fill a shelf.

I want to create products that become part of a child's everyday life — the little tools they use, the routines they learn, and the moments where they realize:

“I can do this.”

And that's really where Nurtured Path Co. began.
